Fratelli Boffi presents the new Sitlali Low with an exclusive gold finish
The particular character of the Fratelli Boffi company, a combination of skilful woodworking and attention to detail, is revived in the new Sitlali Low, the low-back version of the Sitlali rocking chair, the latest addition to the collection launched during the Salone del Mobile 2021. Presented with an exclusive gold-colour finish for the festivities, the Sitlali Low perfectly embodies the company’s philosophy, demonstrating its ability to reinterpret the furniture of the past with a great deal of irony and eclecticism.
The Sitlali Low differs from the Sitlali in the height of its backrest. In this new version, in fact, the curved wood used for the armrests also acts as a terminus for the vertical elements
and defines the enveloping curvature of the backrest.
Designed by Swiss designer Philippe Bestenheider, the Sitlali and the Sitlali Low are inspired by the archetype of the English chair, the Windsor chair, a chair conceived at the end of the 18th century as a piece of rural furniture which evolved over the decades into multiple versions, and which still remains a contemporary object today, the result of centuries of craftsmanship combining authentic materials, a simple and elegant line and a graceful aesthetic. The Sitlali collection reiterates the values the Windsor chair has preserved over time and reinterprets its aesthetics with character and contemporaneity. The backrest, designed as a fan-shaped array of overlapping rods, becomes the project’s distinctive feature. The same structure with overlapping rods is also used for the base of the chair, making up the legs that end in the curves of the rocking chair, creating a coherent and light construction unit. In its composition, the Sitlali Low maintains the sculptural but essential character that makes Sitlali stand out, without complex decorative elements, as if to evoke the cleanliness of the Shakers furniture of the time. A piece of furniture that amazes and invites you to relax with a very ironic and decorative spirit.

Fratelli Boffi presenta la nuova Sitlali Low con un’esclusiva finitura dorata
Il carattere peculiare dell’azienda Fratelli Boffi, fatto di sapienti lavorazioni del legno e preziosismo nei dettagli, rivive nella nuova Sitlali Low, la versione con schienale basso della poltrona a dondolo Sitlali, l’ultima novità della collezione lanciata durante il Salone del Mobile 2021. Presentata con una finitura esclusiva color oro in occasione delle festività, Sitlali Low incarna perfettamente la filosofia dell’azienda dimostrando la capacità di reinterpretare gli arredi del passato con grande ironia ed ecletticità.
Sitlali Low si differenzia da Sitlali nell’altezza dello schienale. In questa nuova versione infatti, il legno curvato che disegna i braccioli funge anche da terminale degli elementi verticali e definisce la curvatura avvolgente dello schienale.
Disegnate dal designer svizzero Philippe Bestenheider, Sitlali e Sitlali Low s’ispirano all’archetipo della sedia inglese, la sedia Windsor, una seduta concepita a fine ‘700 come arredo di campagna ed evolutasi nel corso dei decenni in molteplici versioni, rimanendo ancora oggi un oggetto attuale, frutto di secoli di sapienza artigianale, che coniuga genuinità dei materiali, una linea semplice ed elegante, ed un’estetica aggraziata. La collezione Sitlali ripropone i valori che la sedia Windor ha conservato nel tempo e ne reinterpreta l’estetica con carattere e contemporaneità. Lo schienale, disegnato come un ventaglio di sottili bacchette sovrapposte, diventa il carattere distintivo del progetto. La medesima struttura a bacchette sovrapposte disegna anche la base della poltrona, componendo le gambe che terminano nelle curve del dondolo, creando un’unità
costruttiva coerente e leggera.
Sitlali Low mantiene nella sua composizione il carattere scultoreo ma al contempo essenziale che contraddistingue Sitlali, senza elementi di decoro complessi, quasi ad evocare la pulizia degli arredi Shakers dell’epoca. Un arredo che stupisce e che invita al relax, con uno spirito molto ironico e decorativo.
Ancora una volta i Fratelli Boffi stupiscono con le loro inaspettate creazioni, raccontando la loro visione del lusso e dell’abitare contemporaneo, con una magistrale attenzione verso le lavorazioni e il dettaglio, con uno stile unico tipico delle loro collezioni.
